What is BMC TV?

Posted by Alex Messenger on 09/10/2012

BMC TV is an online video channel designed to complement Summit magazine, our website and our growing social media.

Partly funded by Sport England, the idea is to bring together exciting walking, climbing and mountain content, mix it up with essential skills and safety advice and promote it across all our social media channels. This is a new platform, which hosts our video content, and is optimised for all devices, such as desktops, tablets and phones.

Check it out here.

What's planned?
We have teamed up with leading UK adventure film makers to commission short films and sponsor feature films, and are partnering with Kendal Mountain Festival to provide a dedicated channel. This content will sit alongside all the essential skills, gear and safety advice you'd expect from the BMC.

How to submit your content
We are currently looking for additional content to fill our channels. And now is a great time to get involved, since you will benefit from our initial high levels of promotion, without being lost in a sea of content. Do you have a film, short, trailer, show reel or clip you’d like to upload? We’d like to hear from you.

How do I send in films?
Please send alex@thebmc.co.uk a dropbox link (or similar) to your original file (mp4 or mov). They will be uploaded to BMC TV and transcoded for different devices.

Copyright and music rights
You retain full ownership of the file, and, in most cases, will still be hosted on Vimeo or Youtube. BMC TV is an additional way to get exposure. Please only send in films where music rights have been cleared.

Commissioning
We are commissioning a series of short web films each year. If you’ve got a great idea and would like to pitch for a level of support, then get in touch.
