Would you like to get more involved in the work of the BMC? We have a number of Area volunteer roles available, and are looking for enthusiastic members to take them on.
Area volunteers undertake vital roles in the democratic structure of the BMC and the work we do on behalf of members and the wider climbing, hill walking and mountaineering community. Each of the ten BMC Areas holds an Area AGM, at which elections for a range of volunteer roles take place, and we are currently looking for volunteers to fulfil the following roles and stand for elecition at the forthcoming round of Area AGMs:
Climbing Wall Representative (draft version)
Club Coordinator (draft version)
Hill Walking Representative
Elections will be conducted at the Area AGMs listed above, and if you wish to stand for election for a role in your BMC Area, you should attend your Area AGM. You don’t need a proposer or seconder to stand for election to an Area volunteer, and could stand on the night without prior notification, but we would prefer anyone who does intend to stand to let us know in advance.
If you are interested in any of the vacant volunteer roles, and would like to find out more, please contact BMC Local Areas Co-ordinator, Tony Ryan by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want to say a big thanks to every BMC member who continues to support us through the Coronavirus crisis.
From weekly Facebook Lives and GB Climbing home training videos, to our access team working to re-open the crags and fight for your mountain access, we couldn’t do it without you.
Did you know that we've just launched a new U27 membership offer for just £1.50 / month? And with full membership from £2.50 / month, it's never been easier to join and support our work:
