2. Catch the premiere of The Big Bang: the Emma Twyford Story
The big news from BMC TV is that we're launching our brand-new film: The Big Bang. In this 30-minute epic film, we follow Emma Twyford on her three-year journey to climb The Big Bang at Lower Pen Trywn - becoming the first British woman to break the 9a barrier.
The Big Bang premieres at Kendal. Catch it in the Climb Film collection. There are six sessions throughout the weekend, and the 11:45 session on Saturday also features a QnA with Emma Twyford and filmmaker David Petts.
Thanks to our friends at DMM for supporting this film.
3. Watch the very unique Ed Drummond tribute session on Saturday at 12pm
If you've climbed A Dream of White Horses then you'll probably recognise Ed Drummond's name. Ed - a climber, a pioneer and a poet - died this year, and we've collaborated with DMM on a tribute session by filmmaker Paul Diffley. This session features very special new films starring James McHaffie as you've never seen him before, tales of Drummond's routes by leading climbers, live music and live reading of Ed's poetic writings about some of his most famous and bold climbs. This is a one off and will sell out - so make sure you get your ticket in advance.

4. Say hi, and check out our very green BMC stand in the Basecamp
Come and check out the BMC stand in the Basecamp. Find out more about our new environmental campaign The Climate Project which launches in 2020. This is an exciting new way that you can take local action against the climate crisis. We're turning our whole stand into a slice of moorland so that you can check out the carbon-combatting plant that everyone's talking about: Sphagnum! Take part in our spin-and-win competition, and you could win great prizes from Montane, Clifbar, Cotswold and the BMC.
Been thinking about joining us as a member for a while? Kendal is the time to do it as we have a special membership deal, with an exclusive free Go Climb Stuff mug thrown in to start your BMC year off right.
Fresh from his recent bold onsight of Nightmayer (E8 6c), Steve McClure will also be down with us at the BMC stand for a poster signing session on Saturday. Come say hi for an hour from 10.30am.
Find us in the Basecamp marquee, just past the stage.
5. Check out Climbing Blind: the amazing story of Jesse Dufton
Can you imagine climbing The Old Man of Hoy without use of your eyes? That's exactly what Jesse Dufton did this year. Check out Jesse's truly incredible adventure in this new film by Alastair Lee, supported by Montane and BMC TV. This isn't part of the Kendal climbing film program, so don't miss the special screening 16.30-18.00 on Saturday with a live Q&A with Jesse and producer and director Alastair Lee. This is very nearly sold out.
