Results of the BMC AGM 2022

The results are in for the all-virtual 2022 BMC AGM, held on Wednesday 18 May 2022.

This was the third virtual AGM due to the pandemic.

The AGM was chaired by our President, Andy Syme, who gave a presentation along with: our new Chair, Roger Murray; our CEO, Paul Davies; and on the finance side, Iain Dickinson, chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. Their presentations are set out below:

A big thank you to all our members who attended and to all of you who took the time to vote on the resolutions and elections proposed.

The results are as set out below.

To approve the re-appointment of Fiona Sanders as a Council Nominated Director whose second term of office took effect from 1 April 2022.	618	18	37	97.17%
That with effect from the conclusion of the Meeting the Articles of Association of the Company be amended and that the draft Articles annexed hereto be and are hereby adopted as the Articles of Association of the Company for and to the exclusion of the existing Articles of Association of the Company.	611	12	50	98.07%
That upon the passing of resolution 6 above, with effect from the conclusion of the Meeting, the Articles of Association adopted as a result of resolution 6 above are amended by adding new article 4.13: ‘encourage and promote membership of the Company to Mountaineers and those interested in Mountaineering’.	625	20	28	96.90%
To elect a Nationally Elected Councillor to represent indoor climbing for a three-year term to start with effect from 19 May 2022. The candidate is: Stuart Holmes	610	17	46	97.29%
To elect a Constituency Councillor to represent Mountain Training for a three-year term to start with effect from 19 May 2022. The candidate is: Oli Lewis Only open to those who are BMC Voting Members and Mountain Training candidates	214	4	10	98.17%

Electorate: 72,643 Number of valid votes: 673 Turnout: 0.93%

Congratulations to the following candidates who have been elected to the following positions:

Stuart Holmes – NEC indoor climbing

Oli Lewis – Constituency Councillor, Mountain Training
