BMC Vice-President Pat Littlejohn has been awarded the OBE in the New Year Honours list for services to Mountaineering.

Congratulations goes to Pat from everyone within the BMC for this richly deserved award.

Pat is a very well known figure in the climbing and mountaineering community with over 30 years spent new routing and exploring the world's mountains.

Pat became a Vice President of the BMC at the BMC AGM of April 2007.

Pat is also Director of the International School of Mountaineering (ISM) in Leysin, Switzerland.  As Vice President he brings considerable professional experience to the BMC's Board of Directors. Pat's first tasks at the BMC have been to assist with fund raising efforts for mountaineering expeditions and to assess applications from Area Bolt Funds for BMC purchased bolts.

In the photograph above Pat is on the extreme left.  So, pictured from L to R we have Pat Littlejohn, Rab Carrington, Charlie Clarke, Bill Renshaw & Dave Turnbull (Vic Odell, Treasurer - absent).
