New Fort William climbing centre

Posted by Rob Adie on 03/03/2015

Three Wise Monkeys Climbing are launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise £40,000 in 28 days. Three Wise Monkeys Climbing need to raise a final £40,000 to help them open the doors of their exciting new Fort William climbing centre project later this year.

Fort William is in Lochaber with Ben Nevis right on the doorstep, the area is a phenomenal honey pot to climbers, walkers and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. However, the area has been known to suffer from occasional, somewhat heavy, rainfall; as a visitor would expect if they believed the rumours about the weather in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.

Because of this Three Wise Monkeys Climbing are looking to convert a currently disused church on the Fort William high street into the biggest and best umbrella of them all – a state of the art indoor climbing centre.

This climbing centre project has been under development for the last two years, and a lot of planning, fund raising and hard graft has been done in that time, the Three Wise Monkeys Climbing team are now confident that their exciting project will be able to open its doors later this year if they can just raise a final £40,000 to meet their target needed to open phase 1.

Oliver Millington, managing director and founder of the project, said “The Three Wise Monkeys Climbing project is a truly exciting prospect for Fort William and the climbing community in the UK, having a new indoor activity for all ages and abilities open year round would be a huge benefit to people who love the amazing outdoor area that we live in, but get stuck when the weather is poor. We’re crowdfunding because we want the local and visiting outdoor community to have a chance to be part of the history of our project, we’ve put together some great rewards too so as well as a brilliant new climbing centre in town, everyone will get something back for supporting us.”

Three Wise Monkeys Climbing are offering some great rewards for individuals and businesses, from their super funder t shirt right the way through to lifetime membership of the climbing centre. To see the video and look at the rewards, visit www.crowdfunder.co.uk/three-wise-monkeys-climbing now.
