COVID-19

As the Covid-19 lockdown eases, access for climbing is opening back up, subject to some measures and restrictions depending on where you are going. Please make sure you have read and understood our current advice before heading out and apply it alongside RAD advice to ensure access issues don’t develop.

Fairy Steps

Small limestone crag in a pleasant woodland situation. Contains a few short routes and bouldering.

Crag information
Climbing Area: North West Rock Type: Limestone
Importance: Local CRoW Land: No
Ownership: Private No. of Routes: 280

Following the previous climbing access and management agreement being terminated by the Dallam Estate, attempts were made to re-negotiate formal access for climbing. These were unfortunately unsuccessful and after over 40 years of access for climbing, formal access was lost.

The public can still access the area on a good network of public footpaths. If you do decide to visit and climb, you may be asked to leave by the landowner or their workers - if this happens be polite, pack up and leave as quickly as is safe to do so.

There is organised shooting in the area.
