e-Newsletter December 2010

A project to restore the moorland of Kinder Scout begins in 2011 and might require the installation of a temporary sheep-proof fence. We are encouraging members to comment on the location of the fence on this iconic upland area steeped in the struggle for access to the countryside.

Winter has arrived early and with a blast, so make sure you are equipped for the conditions and your skill levels match your ambitions. The brand new edition of the BMC book Safety on Mountains is the perfect hill walker’s handbook; take a look at our Winter Skills courses too.

Season’s Greetings,
Dave Turnbull, BMC CEO
