Welcome

Temperatures are dropping and winter is nearly here. Don’t forget to check all your gear and pack emergency essentials before heading into the hills. If you’re waiting for temps to drop below freezing, you can check air and soil temperatures at Great End Crag in the Lakes or Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia using our live monitoring stations.

Not long now until the Independent Organisational Review Group releases its interim report that will include its recommendations for changes to the way the BMC currently works – in terms of organisation, governance, and decision-making structures. We need your help to shape the future of our organisation, find out how you can contribute below.

Montane became the BMC’s recommended clothing and pack partner and the initial celebratory discount has expired, but not to worry as BMC members will always have access to 15% discount from UK stockists. A full list is available at www.montane.co.uk and Montane is also stocked by BMC recommended retailer Cotswold Outdoor.
