The rock at Corby's is a soft and has suffered badly in recent years from top roping and heavy group use. It is an excellent mid grade venue but is not suitable for beginners as the climbing is often delicate and technical.
The crag is frequently used by outdoor education groups and is showing considerable signs of wear. Please help to cut down on rock damage (rope grooves etc) by ensuring that moving ropes do not come in contact with the rock.
The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is the representative body that exists
to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and
mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers. The BMC recognises that climbing, hill
walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death.
Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be
responsible for their own actions.
