Good rough gritstone which is usually clean "due to its constant exposure to the lashing westerly gales". About 40ft high, plenty of splendid bouldering. Home to John Dunne's Carmen Picasso. Great on a nice summer's day. Do not use wire brushes - the rock is surprisingly fragile.
