The Cuboid

Snowdonia

A small cube shaped boulder just off the A5. Good solid rock on three sides. The far side has a skin on it that is probably best left alone. The landings are excellent. A reasonable boulder that mainly consists of one move sit downs with a longer traverse line.

Parking and Approach

Park as for the sheep pen boulder. Walk up the road to the point where you would cross over and head up the scree. Instead of crossing the road hop over the wall on the right and head down to the small square boulder at the bottom of the field.( There is no recognised access as far as I am aware, so please keep a low profile.) Permission may be sought from the farmhouse 500 metres or so just down the road.
Area information

A wide range of cliffs - mainly traditional and multi pitch inc. the popular Llanberis Pass, Idwal Slabs, Clogwyn du'r Arddu and Cwm Silyn cliffs, but also outlying outcrops such as Carreg Alltrem. Many crags are on CROW access land - but not all especially some of the outcrops which lie on private enclosed land. Most of central Snowdonia is both designated an SSSI and also is an European Special Area of Conservation on account of the upland habitat and associated geology and plants found here.
