The Agglestone

Swanage

A large sandstone boulder to 25 feet, supposedly grit-like. Good for bouldering, but maybe a little friable. [Stephen Holmes 8/02] The west face provides the bulk of the more challenging eliminates. The east face can provide good juggy traversing while the north face has some more classic lines to the summit. The rock is softest in the lowest meter and thus the footholds here are eroding - try to be light footed in this section. [Jimbo 8/04] Quality boulder - great view, variations of routes are possible.. Don't scribe your name in to it though, as you are a plonker if you do - it's the only boulder around so look after it!!!. Well worth a look of your near Poole.. [Chris 8/05] Thanks to all good information above guys. After years lovely Agglestone sandstone is still here with more known boulder problems around. write your opinion or email me ;) Please DO NOT LITTER and DO NOT CARVE rock ! ! ! [Spirit 06/14]
