Post Hill Quarry

West Yorkshire Gritstone

Hidden in the trees within Post Hill, Are 3 separate Gritstone crags left from an old quarry. There is a mixture of bouldering and single pitch climbing, most with good top outs and flat landings. Most climbs are well protected with plenty of crimpy hand holds and crack lines to follow. The majority of the climbs are standard bouldering or high ball, some areas may be best done as a single pitch. The Furthest Right of the outcrops is the best quality with the most climbs, generally dry with clean Gritstone, lots of arêtes and good top-outs. The far left section boasts a good single pitch wall with a number of routes, and with some cleaning up the middle wall of this crag has large overhangs at height giving good hard climbing. The middle of the crags when dry has some easy single pitch routes and a short wall for bouldering.(James E Thompson)
