Steep overhangs is what Loup Scar is all about and there are plenty of them! Powerful and dynamic moves interspersed with short vertical walls typifies the style of climbing which is most suited to those with massive arms and a long reach. The rock is generally excellent and the gear is good.

Parking and Approach
The crag should be approached from the village of Burnsall which can be reached from Threshfield or Bolton Abbey. You can often park for free by the road in the village but, if this is full, you will need to pay at the car park. Low-water approach - Follow the river-side path to the right of the Red Lion for 500m until the crag can be seen on the other side of the river. A few hairy leaps (degree of hairyness depends on level of river) lead to the beach on the other side. Possible to park above and drop in though this crosses private land.
