Cottage Rocks (Lower Churnet)

The is above the right hand tributary of Dimmings Dale and has a number of smaller buttresses giving a few routes and lots of great bouldering.

Parking and Approach

To reach the dale follow the right hand path from the Rambler's Retreat and then branch off right up a track about half way along the first pool. The first areas you will come to are the smaller Toilet Block (up on the hillside) and Pine Buttress (next to the path). On the right hand bend you will see the Cottage Rocks main buttress. Continuing round the right-hand bend, then the left hand bend and along the path you will see Lone Buttress and Pathside (Bizarre). Shortly after this, by a tree stump next to the wall, you will see Ousal Crag up in the hill side through the trees on the right.
