Coombes Edge

Northern Gritstone

Sections of good rock, with bad top-outs, take great care at the top. Fence post belay for most routes. Often green, so best to climb there after a while of dry weather. It is mainly routes, although there is some bouldering to be had on the blocks below the main crag, and in the small quarry at the far northern end of the crag.

Parking and Approach

Park in the layby at the summit of 'Monks road' and walk down the road approx 25m, through a stile, the edge should now be visible, follow the fence round the top of the edge.Apparently the farmer isnt to keen on climbers, and there are rumours he has slashed tyres before. However, in the (week) day i was there last, nobody bothered us.
