Efforts by Mark & Rowland Edwards to bolt some new routes in Carn Vellan have been fiercely resisted (or removed) by other local climbers. Can be hot in the afternoon. Notable for its huge hooded overhang, including an A3 aid route (maybe free now) called The Lid. Mostly strenuous, sustained climbing on overhanging rock. The E10 is the Mark Edwards route 'Rewind', which takes the line of one of his former sports routes.
