Although next to a quarry Callow Rocks is natural limestone,17 metres at its highest point(measured). It features briefly in John Nixon's 1964 "Limestone Climbs in South west England", he mentioned that the central groove has been climbed but as part of the crag has been quarried away it is difficult to tell which groove he means.At the centre of the rocks is a small rock shelter Known as Callow Lime Works cave, this is climbed by the route "A Dream of White Goods" 10 metres left of this are the routes "Callow Youth" and "Spigollo Verde".To the north of the cave is the Right Wall,capped by overhangs and split by steep grooves(the late Dave Long and I climbed one back in the 80`s but I dont remember which one).To the south of the cave is the smaller Left Wall. There are dubious fence post belays at the top and it is possible to walk down on the southern side of the rocks.

Parking and Approach
Located above the Cheddar to Shipham road it is best to park in the layby just above "The Perch"and cross the road to the footpath, climb this for a hundred metres or so until a large blue pipe is seen on the right, just past this turn uphill toward the crag. It would be best to climb here only at weekends or bank holidays as the quarry is not working then.
