Bickerton

Cheshire

Small sandstone bouldering venue with problems up to 7C+. The rock here is vulnerable even by local standards. Avoid after recent rain, even if it seems surface dry, holds can be damaged when it looks ok to climb. The rock doesn't grow back!

Parking and Approach

The crags can be reached from several directions, for first-time visitors the best access is from the National Trust car park in the hamlet of Bickerton. From Broxton roundabout, junction A41/A534, take the A534 east for around 2 miles (towards Crewe and Nantwich), turning right at a crossroads for Bickerton. After a short distance turn right at the first crossroads by a small chapel and drive along this narrow road for around ½ mile until an obvious small pond on the right (opposite Pool Farm). Turn right onto the dirt track and drive 250m to a free car park.
