Kilimanjaro Awareness

Cheap companies, including many charity trek organisations, could be putting people at risk from ascending Kilimanjaro too fast.

This persistent problem has again reared its head, and was discussed at the recent UIAA Medical Conference. However reputable commercial mountaineering companies are not the problem (since most took an active part in drafting the RGS guidelines for good practice on Kilimanjaro) and independent climbers often have a good awareness of the effects of altitude. If you're signing up for a charity trek then double-check the details.
