This weekend the IFSC Boulder World Cup moves onto Haiyang, China for its penultimate round. At the same time the IFSC Para Cup kicks off in Imst Austria.

Boulder World Cup Round 4

Supporters will once again flock to the event in Haiyang by the thousands to celebrate rock-climbing and cheer on the athletes. In this privileged setting, the competition is sure to be full of outstanding performances.

Shauna Coxsey is still in the running for the IFSC Boulder World Cup overall title, but with Akiyo Noguchi now possessing a commanding lead in the rankings, its a tall order. She also faces stiff rivalry from another Japanese climber - Miho Nonaka.

Shauna Coxsey will be joined by Leah Crane to form a small but very strong female team of GB Climbers out in China for the Chongqing and the Haiyang rounds of the IFSC Boulder World Cup.

After this event the athletes get a break before the last round of the series in Munich in August.

The Senior Bouldering Team are supported by the Arch Climbing Wall.

Para Climbing Cup Round 1

Meanwhile out in Austria a small but select team from the GB Para Climbing team will open the para climbing season in Imst.

Phil Mitchell, Siagnagh Gallagher, Dave Bowes and John Churcher will represent GB with team manager Graeme Hill there to support. With 35 climbers registered it should be a great competition to start the season, with good numbers in most of the categories.

The next event is in Chamonix in July and the series finished on home soil in Sheffield in October. Lets hope that team GB enjoys the fantastic sucess they have attained in the previous couple of seasons.
