Bolts; wind farms; crag clean-ups; access issues; dry tooling. If you want to make your voice heard about local climbing and walking issues, then come along to your next BMC area meeting. Here's how you can keep up to date with area meeting information.
The BMC is divided into nine local areas, and each area has a meeting four or five times a year. Attending area meetings is one of the main ways to get involved in our work and they're often good fun too – taking place in pubs or climbing walls, usually with free food and sometimes a guest speaker. The BMC Local Areas website
The BMC Local Areas site (aka the Community site) holds all the latest dates and documents for the meetings. Just select your area from the drop-down menu for meeting information, as well as local news and events, or select your area from the list below:
London & South East
You can also create a user profile for yourself on the site and be added to your local area group. Whenever a listing for an area meeting in your area is created, you’ll get an automatic email notification.
The BMC website
A page on the BMC website lists the next meeting in each BMC area.
Upcoming BMC area meeting dates
The BMC email newsletter
We publicise area meetings in the BMC monthly email newsletter via the 'BMC Local Area Meetings' banner.
BMC area mailings
About a week before each area meeting, we email all members (for whom we have an email address) within that BMC area with an invitation to attend the meeting.
If we don’t have an email address for you, or your email address has changed, or you think we might have an incorrect record of your email address, and you’d like to receive BMC email newsletters (including the monthly email newsletter and the area meeting invitation), please email email@example.com with a request to receive BMC newsletters and include your name and BMC membership number.
