The North Wales Climbing Action Group (NorthWalesCAG) will be hosting an evening of chat, visuals and chips at The Vaynol, Nant Peris on Tuesday 10th October, starting at 7.30pm.

The aim of the evening is to gather opinions on any and all issues relating to the magnificence that is Gogarth, and to provide a forum for relevant debate and discussion. The group is aiming to find out exactly what you think about such things as fixed and rotting gear, abseil points (e.g. Castell Helen, Yellow Wall), descents (e.g. Upper Tier), bird bans, access to certain crags (e.g. Blacksmith Zawn) and, no doubt, a range of other things that are on your mind. We hope to have an update on the progress of the Climbers’ Club Gogarth guide.

There will also be a chance to find out about the results of the Tremadog routes survey, which aims to determine the vegetative state of the routes, and what needs to be done about them.

The world famous Twid Turner will be providing the visual entertainment, in a slideshow entitled “Today: Gogarth, Tomorrow: The World!” which will take you on an inspirational journey from North Stack to Yellow Wall stopping off in Borneo, Mali, Baffin Island and Pakistan along the way.

Late news just in: John Banks, who spent 6 months doing the first north-south crossing of the Patagonian ice sheet in the early 70s will be teaming up with twid to do the slide show as a double act.
