GB Climbing Selection Documents

Ever thought about joining the GB Climbing teams but don't know how to get there? This page contains all the necessary information which is outlined in each section document- whether Ice climbing is your passion or you are a young climber looking to join the Development Squad.

GB Climbing Selection Policies for 2019:

GB National Development Squad

The aim of the GB National Development Squad is to develop climbers on the talent pathway into well-rounded athletes and young people. 

The policy outlines the two routes to achieving selection.

GB National Development Squad memebrs are eligible to be entered for international competitions. The International Policy can be found here.

GB Senior Squad

The Senior squad is the best of British Competition Climbers who reguarly compete internationally and on home soil.

The policy outlines the two routes to achieving selection.

GB Paraclimbing Team 

For those Paraclimbers who are eligible to compete according to IFSC categories.

GB Ice Climbing Team

The Ice climbing team is currently managed by the BMC and Mountaineering Scotland.

Anyone wishing to be a part of the Team for 2019, should download and complete the attached application form and return it zoe@thebmc.co.uk and kevin@mountaineering.scot by no later than 2 January 2019

Selection Appeals Document

This document outlines the procedure for anyone who wishes to make an appeal regarding selection.


The GB Climbing Team is supported by the BMC, Mountaineering ScotlandClif BarDuco and Rock Over Climbing.

 
The GB Paraclimbing Team is supported by Oakwood Climbing Centre and Quay Climbing Centre. The GB Ice Climbing Team is supported by Montane. Many UK walls also support the British Climbing Team through free or subsidised entry.
