Climbing Wall Directory 2016

Climbing walls are a great way to start climbing and to stay fit. There are two ways of finding the nearest climbing wall to you: our online searchable database and our annual climbing wall directory.

Search our database by postcode or town

Or

Download the BMC Climbing Wall Directory

The BMC wall directory contains the very latest information on all the major climbing walls across the country. And, new for 2015, all the climbing walls that are accredited centres for the National Indoor Bouldering Award Scheme (NIBAS) now have their own icons.

The basics: climbing indoors

Climbing can be enjoyed on many levels. At its most spontaneous and basic, just footwear is required. On the other hand, in cold and remote locations a range of equipment and clothing is essential just for survival. It’s difficult separating the essentials from the luxuries, and impartial advice is hard to find.

Hi, my husband is a keen climber. I am thinking about buying him a free standing climbing wall, it is a triangle shape. With the hypotenuse being the sloping climbing wall with holds. I have only seen them online for sale in America which will be really expensive for shipping and any other problems. Would people here recommend such a thing and if so, do you know anyone in the uk who would provide them. This looked good as he could do it in the garage without having to alter the walls and be easy for moving house. Thanks in advance

Is there a UK membership that gives you access to all the walls?. I have the perception that each club run their own scheme. Just to compare, for example in Archery I have the GNAS membership after going through a course. With my GNAS card I can go to any Archery club in the UK, I just pay the day fee to shoot. Is there a similar scheme for indoor rock climbing in the UK?

Hi, we have been donated a complete climbing wall to sell on behalf of our local hospice.
I can send you more pictures and details on request.
Would it be something anyone would be interested in buying?
Thanks

The local heigh school freeston in normanton weat Yorkshire has an amazing climbing wall brand new all equipment but it has not been touched due to the manager stating he can not find an instructor. I would love to use this facility for kids parties and on a weekly basis how would someone go about finding a qualified instructor to run it as the manager stated if I could find someone qualified who is willing he would hire them ?
