Walk Overview
A classic low-level route through the fields and dales of the White Peak south of Hartington, taking in spectacular limestone scenery including crags and screes.
When: Saturday 12th October
Distance: 6 miles
Duration: 3 - 4 hours
Led by: Simon Ainley/Andrew McCloy, YHA, with BMC volunteer guides
Starting and finishing at YHA Hartington Hall, this circular walk via Beresford Dale, Wolfscote Dale and Biggin Dale is a classic White Peak route through stunning limestone hill country – dales, streams, screes and cliffs. Although it’s low level there are a few modest slopes; and while the terrain is generally good, it does become rocky and possibly wet underfoot in one or two places in Biggin Dale.
This event is part of YHA's Festival of Walking. View other social walks.
