British Lead, Speed and Paraclimbing Championships
The British Lead, Speed and Paraclimbing Championships is one of the highlights of the UK's competition season, where the country's best Lead climbers battle it out to be crowned British champion.

Volunteer at the BLSPCs
Get a front row view to watch Britain's future talented Climbing athletes. To support the event we're looking for volunteers for the roles of competent lead belayers, competitions judges and isolation volunteers (DBS required). Lunch and drinks will be provided as well as a full briefing.
Important Information
The timetable remains provisional until registration closes:
Friday 6 September; Speed, Warm-up, Practice, Qualifications and Finals
Saturday 7 September; Qualifications for all categories from 9am
Sunday 8 September; Senior Semi-Finals, Youth and Veteran Finals, AM Senior and Para Finals, PM
Qualification, 2 routes per category, 6 minute climbing time, 1 attempt.

If you cancel your entry to the competition - you will not be entitled to a refund. If the competition is cancelled due to an unforeseen circumstance - you will be entitled to a full refund.
To support the event we need competent lead belayers, competitions judges, isolation volunteers (DBS required). Volunteering will involve long days but there will be a break. Lunch and drinks will be provided.

If you have the skills and experience or just a willingness to get involved and would like to be part of the action, seeing some of Britain's young talent in Lead climbing then get in touch.
Full judges briefing given, if you would like to volunteer but have never judged before (useful to have climbing knowledge but not essential)
Belayers will need to be assessed before the competition.
Expectations
- Lead Belaying (essential if volunteering for the belaying role)
- Previous judging experience (not essential)

Special Dispensation may be granted to competitors across the BMC National Competitions.** Special Dispensation may only be granted by completing and submitting the online application form.
Special Dispensation will be independently reviewed by BMC workforce currently working outside of the GB Climbing competition pathway, on a case-by-case basis, and any existing special dispensation will be reviewed annually from 1 January to 31 December, aligned with the climbing competition season.
All special dispensation request need to be submitted with supporting evidence. Special dispensation requests submitted without supporting evidence will be returned to the applicant with a request for more supporting evidence. Supporting evidence and a copy of the form should be emailed to safeguarding@thebmc.co.uk
