When they were juniors, supervised by trained volunteers

There will be a BMC Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop on Thursday 7 September at Awesome Walls Climbing Centre, Garter St, Sheffield S4 7QX.

Sometimes called Good Practice in Child Protection, this is an introductory course that gives an overview of safeguarding children within sports, particularly climbing, hill walking and mountaineering. It also makes people aware of what the issues are so that they can work according to good practice.

The course costs £20.  Although, it is free for BMC volunteers, and members of BMC affiliated clubs, who support activities involving under 18s - such as  Area Youth Co-ordinators and those who help with the Junior Teams and at competitions.  It is especially helpful for Club Youth Officers and Welfare Officers.

Date:  Thursday 7 September 2017
Time: 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Course: Safeguarding and Child Protection Awareness
Cost: Free for BMC volunteers and Club Youth Officers
Venue: Awesome Walls Climbing Centre, Garter St, Sheffield S4 7QX

The workshop will be delivered by an experienced Sports Coach UK accredited trainer.
