We've received reports of what appears to be rodent damage to rope slings which form part of the belay and abseil anchors for several routes at Shorn Cliff in the Wye Valley, Gloucestershire.

BMC has been warned of a very large unstable and dangerous block on the route Shadrach at Craig Bwlch y Moch, Tremadog. It is strongly advised that the routes Shadrach and Brothers are not climbed.

After the last hugely successful BMC NE Festival, which took place in 2017, we're back for another weekend of NE action. The event will take place on the second weekend in May this year - this time in Northumberland. It promises to be a great weekend of walking, climbing, bouldering, eating and drinking, based at at Greencarts Farm Campsite, between Hexham and Wark. We're very excited to have Mark Savage speaking at the event, with tales and photos of beautiful boulders, routes and landscapes from all over the county. Chapel Head: Peregrines and Passions…

Chapel Head Scar is an imposing limestone crag above the Witherslack valley in South Cumbria. It’s loved by many outdoor enthusiasts. Whitbarrow Scar above provides great walking when the higher fells are clagged in. The cliff is undoubtedly Cumbria’s premiere hard sport climbing crag. It is unique and many of its routes are of good quality, hence it’s enduring popularity but it also provides an important refuge for peregrine falcons which nest on the crag during the spring. James Bumby, BMC Volunteer Access Co-ordinator for the Lakes gives some background to why restrictions are needed to protect cliff nesting birds in the Lakes and for this crag in particular...
