Boulder World Cup held on British turf

Posted by Tina Gardner on 12/07/2011

Sheffield's Cliffhanger festival played host to the penultimate round of the IFSC Boulder World Cup on 2-3 July.

The sunny weather brought out the crowds to watch the world's top boulderers in action.  A strong contingent of the British Bouldering Team made it through to the semi finals but narrowly missed out on putting any GB climbers into the final which took place on Sunday afternoon.

Team GB came an impressive 3rd in the team event, earning them a podium place.  The team is currently ranked 10th overall.  The final round of the IFSC Bouldering World Cup will take place in Munich on 19-20 August.

Podium results:

Mens
1st - Kilian Fischhuber (Austria)
2nd - Cedric Lachat (Switzerland)
3rd - Alexey Rubtsov (Russia)

Womens
