On 14th & 15th September there will be a weekend of highly subsidised training courses for young people who are interested in coaching climbing. The coach education weekend will be held at Rock Over Climbing in Manchester.
Ian Dunn & Katherine Schirrmacher will deliver a FUNDAMENTALS 1 on the Saturday and a FOUNDATION COACH TRAINING on the Sunday. Young people can sign up for either both the days or just 1 day. Each day will cost just £25 which will cover the cost of the course, the registration fee and lunch. Emma Twyford will also be on hand to deliver an inspiring climbing talk on the Saturday evening.
You will need to arrange your own accommodation and lunch. The courses will start at 10.00 am on each day.

FUNDAMENTALS 1, Saturday 14th September

AGE: 14-18
FUNdamentals 1 will look at various areas of what can be taught in climbing from balance, agility and coordination through to climbing techniques such as flagging, rockovers. At the end of the course people will have gleaned ideas of what they can do when coaching people of different abilities in climbing.

FOUNDATION COACH, Sunday 15th September
COST: £25* (includes registration fee, normally £45)
AGE: 16-18
FOUNDATION COACH training covers observation and analysis, clear delivery, feedback, session planning and gives a good starting point for how to deliver good coaching.
