BMC National Council: summary of June 2014 meeting

The 39th meeting of the BMC National Council took place on Saturday 14 June 2014 at Plas y Brenin, the National Mountain Sports Centre in Capel Curig. A summary of the meeting is available to download.

The meeting covered a range of topics including:

  • BMC area news and reports;
  • BMC membership and finance;
  • the election of Deirdre Collier as a National Council representative on the Executive Committee;
  • the nomination of Rehan Siddiqui as the candidate for BMC President;
  • a review of the 2013-17 BMC Strategic Plan, focussing in particular on the BMC’s work for hill walkers; and
  • a discussion on the BMC Area structure, and its ability to engage with members in all parts of England and Wales.
