Opportunities at the BMC:

Supporting a generation to get active and outdoors

Society is at a cross-roads as we reset following the pandemic, how we balance our lives, the importance of looking after our mental health and the role that activity and the outdoors can play in a rich and fulfilled life and community.

For nearly 80 years we have worked on behalf of our communities to protect and maintain access to outdoor spaces and support them to make the most of their activities responsibly and sustainably.

Through GB Climbing, we are also the National Governing Body for the sport of competition climbing with inclusion as an Olympic sport guaranteed until LA28.

 

Digital Marketing Coordinator

Location:                     BMC office, West Didsbury in South Manchester

Remuneration:           £25,000 per annum, as well as excellent benefits

Contract type:           Permanent full-time contract

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Coordinator to own and develop the delivery of BMC marketing communications through our paid media and email channels.

They will work closely with colleagues across the restructured marketing and communications team supporting campaign delivery and the range of services and activities across the BMC. These opportunities do not come along often and we are excited to welcome the right candidate into our team.

IT Support Assistant

Location:                     BMC office, West Didsbury in South Manchester

Remuneration:           £22,000 per annum, as well as excellent benefits 

Contract type:           Permanent full-time contract

We are looking for an IT Support Assistant to provide support, guidance and assistance to our volunteers and staff across the organisation, ensuring we can continue to deliver on behalf of the communities we serve.

In addition to maintaining core services the role will also play a role in key projects to improve BMC IT and digital capabilities. We are excited to welcome the right candidate into our team.

Membership Administrator

Location:                     BMC office, West Didsbury in South Manchester

Contract type:            6-month fixed term, full-time contract

Remuneration:           £9,623.50 for 6 month contract (equivalent to £19,247 per annum), as well as excellent benefits 

We are looking for an administrator to join our Membership team, who are the first point of contact for BMC members for membership and insurance services. Under the direction of the Membership & Insurance Manager, you will be responsible for membership, insurance and the BMC’s online shop administration. This includes supporting the recruitment and retention of members, as well as advising and fulfilling travel insurance.

BMC Volunteer opportunities:

          

Chair of the Competition Climbing Performance Group (CCPG) - Voluntary position

It’s an exciting time for competition climbing - with climbing having recently made its debut in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and subsequently having been confirmed for both Paris 2024 and LA 2028. The BMC is looking for the right person to chair the Competition Climbing Performance Group (CCPG). The CCPG is an advisory body providing oversight and ‘check and challenge’ for all aspects of competition climbing including domestic and international competition/events programme, the talent and performance pathway system, and the GB Climbing Teams for boulder, lead, speed, paraclimbing, ice climbing and ski mountaineering competitions.

This influential voluntary role will provide leadership to the CCPG and ensure that it provides the BMC’s GB Climbing staff, and the volunteers that are vital to the delivery of BMC competitions, with constructive challenge and support to the ongoing growth of competition climbing in Great Britain.

This post requires an outstanding, well organised individual who has a good understanding of the outdoor sector. They will actively seek and be open to new ideas and thinking about how to further get people active in the outdoors, whatever their ability. They will be proud to lead the instructional team at Plas Y Brenin. A committed and loyal individual with a high determination to succeed.
