The BMC are currently recruiting for a new manager and assistant manager of the GB Paraclimbing Team and a new Area Youth Coordinator for the North West region of the BMC Youth Climbing Series.
Manager and assistant manager of GB paraclimbing team
The GB paraclimbing team has just been selected, but the team needs a new set of managers to take over from the fantastic position that previous manager Graeme Hill and assistant manager Andy Coltart set them up in. The team have a strong international presence and train very hard when they are in the UK.
The team manager's responsibilities would involve organising team training sessions in the UK and accompanying the team on trips to international events, most of which are in Europe.
The main role of the assistant team manager would be to organise logistics for the team; booking flights, accommodation and transfers for the team to get to the international events. There will also be the opportunity to attend these events with the team, but this is not essential.
The role description for the GB Paraclimbing team manager can be found here.

North West Area Youth Coordinator (AYC)
The NW area of the BMC's Youth Climbing Series needs a new AYC to take responsibility for running the regional rounds of the series which take place in January, February and March.
Duties involve liaising with host venues in the run-up to each event, to make sure the routes are set correctly, and then recruiting the volunteer judges, belayers and chaperones before and during the event. Following this, the main responsibility is running the competition on the actual day.
Most AYCs then organise the teams from their regions to attend the national final which is at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena on the 23 April 2016.
The job description and further information for becoming an Area Youth Coordinator can be seen here.
If you require more information on any of these roles or would like to apply please contact the BMC's Competitions Development Officer – Rob Adie at rob@thebmc.co.uk or on 07920062908 by the end of January.
