The Alex MacIntyre Memorial Hut

The Alex MacIntyre Memorial Hut is located between Glencoe and Fort William, at North Ballachulish, in the Western Highlands. It is ideally located for walkers and climbers wishing to explore Ben Nevis and Glencoe.

This National Hut is held in trust jointly by the BMC and Mountaineering Scotland, and is run by a management committee of volunteers which reports to Trustees from both organisations.

The hut can accommodate sixteen people in five different bedrooms. Facilities include a well-equipped kitchen, drying room and car park. The hut is open to Club and Individual members of the BMC/MS.

Availability and bookings

More info including how to book can be found by clicking on the hut booking page here.

Please note the restriction preventing U18s from staying in the hut when it is Wardened, usually between December and May.

Nice if the site gave post code and LR grid ref so people can see where exactly it is. Easy to drive there if you know its there but even then easy to overshoot. Hard to work out how to get there by public transport and or taxi from Fort William

If you are looking to book this hut you should be aware that they have wardens which patrol the hut all hours. Their presence is off putting and, at times, intrusive. Be warned.
