Parking and Approach

There are two recommended approaches.

Take the single track road at NZ604092 some couple of hundred metres west of Kildale. Follow it for 3km passing below the popular Park Nab and continue up the hill  and on to the moor. At a sharp left hand bend there is parking for several cars. Take the Cleveland Way directly ahead for approximately 1500m to the junction of several tracks at NZ598062. The buttress will be seen looking out and to the right across an open stream bed.

The same track junction can also be accessed easily from Bank Foot Farm at NZ592060.
