World Cup fever returns to the UK! Hopes are high for the British Bouldering Team, as they take on some of the world’s best boulderers on home ground in Sheffield this weekend.

The weather has been kind to us so far this summer, with plenty of sunshine and dry conditions for high mountain adventures; fingers crossed that it continues.

BMC Open Youth Winter Competition: Lead and Bouldering  updated
The BMC Open Youth Winter Lead Event will be held at Awesome Walls, Liverpool on 8 December. There will also be a brand-new bouldering-only event at the Climbing Hangar, Liverpool on 9 December. Both competitions are designed to be fun but competitive.
Fantastic performances on Saturday in Sheffield
The sixth round of the IFSC Bouldering World Cup is taking place at Millhouses Park Sheffield, within the Cliffhanger event, this weekend (3 & 4 July).
Positive experiences in the hills
It is well known that people from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities, are under-represented within mountaineering activities, including hill walking and climbing.
Club funding - the result
The BMC is allocating over £20,000 of Sport England funding between 90 BMC affiliated clubs who successfully applied across three categories of funding.
Tremadog - a star is reborn
Occasionally, crags and rock faces can be compared to fallen actors and musicians. One minute they are ‘right up there’ in the ‘A-list’ popularity stakes with everyone wanting a slice of the action. Next minute, no bugger gives a toss and they fall from grace, losing their identity and role.
British first ascents in Sikkim
A primarily-British expedition, supported by the Mount Everest Foundation, has made the first ascent of the West Face of Lama Lamani North, a c5,650m peak in Western Sikkim.
Last call for BMC Climbing Injury Symposium
This event is now sold out. It's a full weekend of evidence-based talks and workshops on climbing injuries in adult and young climbers, given by medical surgeons and doctors (specialising in hands, feet and shoulders) and specialists in radiology, podiatry, physiotherapy and nutrition. Bookings close Friday 12 October.
