e-Newsletter July 2009
Welcome

Good news for access and conservation in Wales and the Peak District, with the appointment of the BMC's first ever dedicated officer for Wales and a new management partnership for the Peak District's Eastern Moors Estate.

The national climbing championships take place this month; bouldering at the Cliffhanger Festival in Sheffield; lead climbing at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena. The IFSC, competition climbing’s world governing body, is seeking Olympic status for the sport, and the BMC must decide whether to support its campaign. Read the article in this month’s newsletter, and join the debate at your local area meeting.
