BMC AGM 2020
This year, the BMC’s AGM is being held virtually using the platform GoToWebinar. You can join us on Saturday 13 June at 3pm to have your say on the running of the BMC, from the comfort of your own home.
The answers from the BMC Board of Directors
You asked and they answered! The BMC invited members to ask questions of the Board of Directors ahead of the virtual AGM. There will be a second opportunity for members to ask questions prior to the AGM, which will be after official notice of the AGM together with supporting documents is sent out.

Covid-19: June lockdown changes
Following the latest government announcements, some changes are due to be made to lockdown from Monday 1st June. The changes depend on which country you're based in. The BMC access team take a look at what these mean for climbers and hill walkers.
Lockdown Wales: Stay Local
Wales has different regulations to England in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic and consequently, the rules on travel, exercise and where we can go and who we can climb with, are quite different to those on the English side of the border. The regulations and guidance in Wales were changed on Monday June 1st. Read on to see the current situation.
Called to the Mountains
Called to the Mountains has just been released on BMC TV. This meditative, beautiful black and white short film focusses on Kirsty Pallas, a 26-year-old outdoor instructor and mountain rescue member from Oban in Western Scotland. Sarah Stirling catches up with Kirsty to discover more about the film and, as Kirsty's maternal side of the family are Indian, diversity in the British outdoors.
Mental Health and the Outdoors
Blackdog Outdoors, founded in 2018, offers free outdoor events to those suffering with their mental health. Andrew Higson, the charity’s founder tells us what it’s all about, why the outdoors is so important and the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
