Have your say, make your voice count and vote at the 2021 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) on Saturday 15 May. Once again, the AGM is being held as an online/virtual meeting, there will be no physical meeting place.

Notice of AGM, 15 May 2021

The BMC’s AGM will start at 9am on Saturday 15 May 2021 and last no more than three hours. It is being held entirely online for the second year in a row due to the ongoing pandemic. It would be fantastic to see as many members as possible join us.

There will be a packed agenda including the presentation of the Annual Report, Accounts, and various presentations focused on what the BMC has achieved since the last AGM, and perhaps more importantly, what it is planning to do over the next 12 months. There will also be time for a Q&A session – your opportunity to ask questions of the President, Chair and CEO.

HOW TO: Propose resolutions at the BMC 2021 AGM

As for resolutions, there will be a number of procedural ones to vote on, such as approval of the new Independent Directors, together with some of a more constitutional nature, including a resolution to approve amendments to the articles of association. There are also a number of elections to be held, including for President.

More details of the agenda and the resolutions and elections to be voted on will be sent to all Voting Members by Thursday 29 April.

Your Vote Matters

All BMC Voting Members are both entitled and encouraged to vote.

If you are unable to attend you can still cast your vote by appointing a proxy to cast your vote, this can be a Member or a non-member, but they must be 18 or over and have an email address, and they must be able to join the AGM either electronically or by phone. If your appointed proxy does not attend the AGM, then your vote won’t be cast and won’t be counted.

As in 2020, proxy voting arrangements, and on the day voting arrangements, will be managed by an independent election services provider. We have once again chosen Civica Election Services (Civica) to undertake this role for us. Civica will contact all members to notify them of the voting arrangements by email (or letter if we do not currently hold your email address) by Thursday 29 April.

In order to do this Civica will need the most up to date contact details for all members – so if you have changed your email address since last year’s AGM, please get in touch with us by emailing office@thebmc.co.uk to tell us. This will assist us in ensuring that you are sent notice of the AGM and voting details.

The link on "READ: More about the 2021 AGM and how to attend" is self-referring. Please update with a link to details on the AGM and how to attend which I assume isn't https://www.thebmc.co.uk/bmc-agm-2021

Lots of links to how to vote but I can't find the agenda so don't know what I'm voting for. Has it been published yet?
