Tremfest 2013 saw blue skies, sunshine and over 60 climbers volunteering to help look after the BMC-owned crags at Tremadog.
Blue skies, bright sunshine, sickles, loppers and secateurs - and lots and lots of enthusiasm - is the abiding memory of Tremfest 2013. Over 60 climbers turned up to volunteer to help clear overgrown approach paths, neglected routes and overhanging roadside vegetation at Tremadog during the weekend of 20 April.
The day was a great success, ably masterminded by BMC volunteers Jim & Julia Kelly who did a great job in cajoling, persuading and arm twisting a whole load of gear manufacturers and retailers to support the event. All the volunteers involved were entered into a free prize draw - and everyone was a winner thanks to the generous support of all the supporters and sponsors.
The evening's entertainment included a great talk by new BMC East of England Officer Rob Greenwood - which included an in-depth description and too much detail of how to poo while climbing on a big wall!!!
A very big thank you has to be extended to all involved during the day but especially to Eric Jones and his wife Anne who hosted the event at their cafe and campsite at Bwlch y Moch.
Next year's event will possibly be organised a bit later in the year - so keep an eye out on the BMC website for more details.
