The 2012 BMC AGM Weekend is at Malham, from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th April. Come and join us in the Yorkshire Dales for a weekend of walking, climbing and socialising.
The weekend’s activities will be based at the Malham Tarn Field Studies Centre, which occupies a large Georgian country house, leased from the National Trust. It is the focus of an internationally important National Nature Reserve and the Tarn itself is one of only eight upland alkaline lakes in Europe.
Friday 27 April
7.00 pm
Hot meal for those who have pre-booked.
8.30 - 9.30 pm
A double act with Dave Turnbull’s slideshow of his recent expedition to western Nepal, followed by local activist Mark Radtke reading extracts from his newly released book ‘A Canvas of Rock’.
Saturday 28 April
The morning is free for walking and climbing after a hearty breakfast.
Within walking distance of the Centre are famous limestone features including
Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and spectacular karst landscapes. The route of the
Pennine Way footpath runs very close to the centre. Nearby habitats include limestone pavement, grassland, woodland and species-rich fen, acid peat pools and stony hill streams.
2.30 – 3.30 pm
BMC National Open Forum. Please come along to air your views and support the work of the BMC. The BMC Access Officers will be there to answer any of your questions.

BMC AGM begins.
7.00 pm onwards
Hog roast buffet out on the lawn overlooking the Tarn and a cash only bar to enjoy some lovely local bitters.
Venue and Accommodation
The Centre is 7 miles from Settle and 3 miles from Malham. It comprises of three buildings - Tarn House, North Wing and High Stables. North Wing is close to Tarn House separated by a cobbled courtyard. High Stables is a few minutes’ walk up a woodland track, where there is also a large parking area. Warm and comfortable sleeping accommodation is distributed across all three buildings. Many rooms have en-suite facilities, beds are prepared and tea and coffee making facilities are available in your room but please bring your own towels. It should be noted that the nearest shops and cash machines are 7 miles away.
The prices for attending the AGM weekend are as follows:

Food and bunk bed accommodation with shared bathroom is £70 per person for 2 nights.

Food and twin room with shared bathroom is £80 per person for 2 nights.

Food and triple room with en-suite is £85 per person for 2 nights.

Food and twin room with en-suite is £90 per person for 2 nights.
Food includes a hot evening meal on Friday night; cooked breakfast on Saturday and Sunday; packed lunches on Saturday and Sunday; Saturday night buffet and tea/coffee/juice refreshments throughout the weekend. Please note the above prices do not include alcoholic drinks. Members can purchase drinks from the bar on Friday and Saturday evening (cash only).
