Off Piste Essentials follows four friends exploring the mountains on single and multi day trips. Filmed in the Austrian alps, the skills covered are relevant to back country skiing and ski touring the world over.

A range of technical chapters expand upon the messages in the film, covering essential topics including safe travel, defensive skiing, understanding snow, avalanche survival and rescue, clothing and equipment and using a rope.
