Work starts at Craig y Longridge

Posted by Becky McGovern on 16/11/2007

The BMC has started work to restore the landings below Lancashire's bouldering hotspot.

Due to the nearby housing development, earth had been removed from the righthand side of the crag - turning previous bouldering highballs into necky solos and resulting in a few twisted ankles in the process!

As the photo illustrates, our neighbouring landowner (who provided the manpower and equipment) helped us restore the site to something like it's original level.

The site is pretty muddy so please watch your step when visiting - it should grass over nicely after seeding. So, no excuses for not ticking those testpieces now - get cranking!
