Come and join us for a 13-mile circular spring walk on the South Downs on Saturday 17 March 2018.
This walk is great opportunity to get out in the local countryside and meet with other BMC members whilst enjoying a fine hill walk.
Start Point: Hassocks rail station (TQ 3042 1553)
Start Time: 10:00
End Time: 16:30
Distance: 13 miles
Total Ascent: 2,500 feet
The walk will take in the summits of Wolstonbury Hill and Newtimber Hill before arriving at the legendary valley of Devil's Dyke; formed over 10,000 years ago, the Dyke valley is the longest, deepest and widest dry valley in the UK, dug by the Devil’s own bare hands (or so the legend goes!). The undulating rolling hills provide five distinct ascents and offer plenty of fine far reaching views.
