Come and join us for a walk in the glorious South Downs National Park on Saturday 30 September 2017.
This walk is a great opportunity to get out in the local countryside and meet with other BMC members whilst enjoying a fine hill walk offering stunning views of rolling hills and hopefully the sea!
The 10-mile walk, with approximately 1,600 feet of ascent, will start and finish at Hassocks railway station (Grid Ref. TQ 30422 15545), beginning at 10:30 and finishing at approximately 17:00.
Leaving south and raising to 600’ over chalk downland, we will visit the 19th Century windmills, Jack & Jill and the Chattri Indian War Memorial before climbing to the trig point on top of Ditchling Beacon (800’) on the return to Hassocks.
If travelling from London, trains run frequently to Hassocks from both Victoria (47 minutes) and St Pancras (1 hour 20 minutes) stations.
To assist with the planning of the walk, if you would like to attend please send an email to BMC London & SE Area volunteer hill walking rep Chris Stone: lsehillwalking@hotmail.com
