Come and join us for a hill walk that explores part of the Bleaklow moors, whilst also allowing participants to see at close-hand some of Moors For The Future Partnership's wonderful moorland recovery work, on Saturday 23 September 2017.
The walk, to be led by BMC Peak Area Hill Walking Volunteer Rep. Peter Judd, will be around 9 miles in length and aims to visit Higher Shelf Stones, Bleaklow Head and Torside Clough, with excellent view points along the way.
Come prepared for some steep ascents, traversing rough, sometimes boggy, sometimes rocky ground travelling along mostly, but not always, good paths. Participants are advised to wear stout hill walking boots, good warm and weatherproof clothing, plus bring food and drink to last the day. Gaiters are also recommended.
Under 18s are welcome, but only if in the company of a parent or legal guardian who takes responsibility for them. Dogs are also welcome but must be kept on short, fixed leads at all times.
Meeting point & start time
Meet by the bus turn-around on Shepley Street, Old Glossop, (Grid Ref: SK 044 947) at 9.50 am for a 10 am start.
