Area Meeting
The BMC London & South East Area Meeting will take place at The Devereux pub in the Temple area of central London on Wednesday 1 June 2016, starting at 7.00pm.

Come along to our next gathering of climbers and walkers in the London and South East area. The evening includes a discussion of local and national issues, a guest speaker, a bar and food, so it should be a great night out.

The area meetings are run by volunteers and are your chance to join in with debate and influence decisions about what happens in your area as well as the rest of the country. This meeting is also the area AGM, so we'll be holding elections for the various area representative roles.

50 years of altitude medical research
Dr Jim Milledge has been involved with high altitude medicine and physiology for over 50 years. He was a member or the 1960-61 Silver Hut Expedition, led by Sir Edmund Hillary, which pioneered studies into high altitude physiology; the expedition also made the first ascent of Ama Dablam, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Jim is also the co-author of the highly acclaimed High Altitude Medicine and Physiology book, and is an honorary medical advisor to the BMC.
