Volunteers in the BMC North East Area are organising a crag restoration festival at Peel Crag on the weekend of 5-6 September 2015. Come along and lend a hand.

After three years of work to restore Crag Lough to its former glory, the team of dedicated climbers and cleaners is turning its attention to nearby Peel Crag.

Peel Crag is an 800-metre long north-facing Whin Sill outcrop with one of the best sections of the Roman Wall in the UK. The rock gives a good range of steep, exposed routes mostly in the lower and mid-grades.

The weekend will follow the format of previous clean-ups at Crag Lough; camping at Winshields Farm Campsite, Saturday will be spent cleaning routes, concentrating on the routes to the East of Tiger's Overhang, with an evening barbecue courtesy of the BMC, followed by beers in a local pub.  On Sunday, you can enjoy climbing the newly cleaned routes.

Come along and get involved – everyone is welcome, whether you are a local or just up for the weekend.
